Fa la la la la

We are ready for the holidays and our street proves the point.  Lights, colorful window displays and happy merchants.
We think it's great when we know the people who walk through our doors!  Stop in to say "hi" and shop locally for the holidays.

State Street Shines

All the businesses on State Street are preparing for the Fall.  Even though we still have the beautiful flowers that hang down almost to the street, we can smell the cider brewing and changes happening.

Daily, we hose down our sidewalks, sweep our doorsteps and feel proud to be part of the downtown.  Green grass surrounds our trees which add clean charm to the street.  Yes, it IS real grass!

At the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery, there are artists stopping into the gallery during the month and painting.  The finished painting will be offered for sale with proceeds helping "Artists in need", a program that has been ongoing for 8 years.  Stop by to see the progress!

Speaking of artists...upstairs next to the Unique Arch is a group of working artists who love opening their studios for visitors.  Julie and Jamie teach classes to budding artists and love showing off her beautiful work.  Have a free afternoon?  Come on down to see them.

Merchants care about their storefronts and one great example is the NW Comic Gallery.  Angelina and Donald had Robin (who works at Cooke Stationery) paint Batman on their storefront.  Robin IS amazing and has created many images for comics and magazines.  She is our "hidden secret" on State Street and we are proud to have her talents exposed by NW Comic Gallery.

Pow!  and Wow.

At the Arbor they say..."We "heart" Mr. Darcy!
Be sure and stop in to ask about their new heart throb!

Last but not least, art is exploding in the windows along our street.  Here is the window to Sugar.Sugar., Halloween pumpkins!  Be sure and stop into this enchanting store, candy, cupcakes and so much more to see.  You'll want one of EVERYTHING!

Yarn Bombing on State Street!

Our street has been "yarn bombed" and we love it!

We also have spruced up our street with GREEN GRASS!  Who would have thought but the change is remarkable.  We see people all day walk down the sidewalk, stop and bend down to touch the unknown substance called green grass.

We also are loving the color in Sugar. Sugar.  Cupcakes bring smiles to everyone's face as they walk through the door....plus the smell is heavenly!

AND......

Sugar. Sugar. is now creating wedding cakes!

Don't forget the other shops that make State Street so special.

She's a winner!

We are excited to show off this proud winner from our "The Grass is Always Greener in Downtown Salem" campaign.  What a lucky girl!

Our summer proved to be much greener on State Street and our shoppers commented on how much they LOVED walking along our quaint little street.  We have more planned for this coming year!
